THE mother of a woman who was found murdered last week in the West Rand is still mourning her death.
Lettie Ngathu says all she wants is for justice to prevail.
"My daughter would never hurt a fly, let alone a person. These people must rot in jail," a tearful Lettie said on Sunday.
Mogale City police last Tuesday arrested four people in connection with the death of Maphefo Ngathu, whose body was found at Delpoton on June 4.
The gruesome find - her ears were cut off, the skin on the cranium removed, eyes gouged out and teeth missing - was made by members of a church who had gone to carry out a baptismal ceremony at a lake.
The woman's legs and arms were also found bound together.
Upon finding the body, the congregants called the police.
Detective Sam Lenka of Mogale City has since been tasked with leading the investigation.
Ngathu's body was taken to the Roodepoort mortuary.
Ngathu, 32, was a locomotive driver at the Rand Uranium Mine in Randfontein. Her body was identified by her distraught mother, who had travelled all the way from Bloemhof in North West after being informed of her daughter's murder.
It has since emerged in the Mogale City Magistrate's Court that Maphefo was kidnapped before she was killed.
It is alleged that the kidnapping was engineered by a woman named Tebogo Kwiniti, who had accused the deceased of having an affair with her lover, Rodgers Dlamini, a human resources officer at the Rand Uranium Mine.
Kwiniti appeared in court with her co-accused Simon Theletsane, Mirriam Mdlaka (a traditional healer) and Donald Mthimkhulu on June 5.
The four pleaded guilty and have been remanded in custody.
Kwiniti and Mdlaka are being held at Johannesburg Prison while Theletsane and Mthimkhulu are detained at another facility.
They will appear in court again on June 18 for a bail application.
Kwiniti allegedly paid her co-accused R10,000 to kill Ngathu.
After being abducted and killed in Lenasia, south of Johannesburg, her body was dumped at a lake.
