Seven boys between the ages of 14 and 20 have been arrested after allegedly gang-raping a 17-year-old girl in Soweto.

There is a graphic cellphone video that explicitly shows them taking turns on the girl, Eyewitness News reports.

During the rape, the boys joke around and encourage each other.

The girl can be seen and heard pleading with them to stop while her attackers discuss whether or not she is crying.

They then offer her R2 for her silence.

Police's Kay Makhubela officers are still hunting for the girl.

He said it was unclear if she is mentally disabled or if she was drugged.

Police believe the teenager was kept as a sex slave since she disappeared from Dobsonville three weeks ago.

Sapa reports the girl went missing on March 25. Last week, the cellphone video emerged of her being raped.

Warrant Officer Makhubele said the seven were arrested in Dobsonville on Tuesday.

“Somebody gave the information and it was followed and the boys were identified through that video.”

Police were still trying to find the location where the assault took place as only open veld can be seen in the video.

The young men and two minors are expected to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
