The man jailed for the killing of Constable Francis Rasuge must rot in jail, the Minister of Women, Children and People with Disabilities Lulu Xingwana says.

“We now know the truth. Even if the brute and animal who murdered this young girl never told us... [William] Nkuna must rot in jail for the rest of his life,” Xingwana said.

She was speaking at the memorial service of slain police constable Rasuge in Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria.

“He did not only brutalise Francis and her family but his own wife.”

Xingwana said the fact that Nkuna buried Rasuge in his own home proved what a monster he was.

“We are here to express our disgust and to say one life sentence is not enough,” she said.

She said it would never be known how many women Nkuna had killed and buried.

Xingwana urged women who had gathered at the memorial to press charges against abusive men.

“And as women we must demand no bail for these monsters.”

Nkuna was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2005 for Rasuge’s murder even though the body had not then been found.

In March this year, construction workers discovered human bones while laying a foundation at Nkuna’s house.

About a week later, police confirmed they were Rasuge’s remains.
