Nxesi warning on fraud

PUBLIC Works Minister Thulas Nxesi says he will not tolerate fraud and corruption and those implicated will find themselves on the wrong side of the law.

The minister, who was appointed four months ago, said this during a turnaround strategy session held in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, at the weekend.

"There are some things that are non-negotiable. These include rooting out fraud and corruption in all its forms and the obligations and responsibilities of all of us as public servants to be on time, on task and professionally behaved at all times. There can be no compromise in this regard," he said.

"Five officials have been suspended and charged with misconduct. More officials are implicated and investigations will lead to criminal prosecutions," Nxesi said.
