Told to get a lawyer to represent him

A North West magistrate yesterday warned a man who has been charged with the murder of his three-year-old son and the attempted murder of his five-year-old brother that he was facing serious charges and will need legal representation.

The man, from Koster, allegedly held the little boy by a foot and slammed him against a porch. The boy died instantly. But that was not before he had stabbed his elder brother repeatedly. The boy managed to escape.

Yesterday, the court postponed the matter for the second time to Monday because Letebele did not have a lawyer.
