Chiefs hope to add to United woes

AFTER getting their league title campaign back on track with a 1-0 victory over Platinum Stars on Saturday night, Kaizer Chiefs hope to sustain the winning momentum in Port Elizabeth tonight.

Second-placed Amakhosi are away to Maritzburg United in an Absa Premiership match at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. Kickoff is at 7.30pm.

Guided by Ian Palmer, The Team of Choice have decided to take their games against Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and Bloemfontein Celtic to Port Elizabeth to mobilise support.

Chiefs's rising star Lucky "Last Born" Baloyi, who scored the all-important goal against Dikwena in Polokwane on Saturday, is confident United will be dismantled.

"The victory over Platinum Stars has brought us back into the race and we have no intentions of looking back. United are a good side but we will show them the stars. We want to see ourselves sitting comfortably on top of the log when we go into the festive season break," said Baloyi.

United go into this game under tremendous pressure after three successive defeats, including the embarrassing 7-0 lost to log leaders SuperSport United. The Team of Choice also went on to lose both in the league and Telkom Knockout to Santos.

Palmer should be encouraged the return of Nigerian Prince Olomu, who was not available due to unknown personal reasons.

"The team has been here in Port Elizabeth since Saturday to acclimatise and we are looking forward to getting a positive result," Palmer said.

In Tshwane, Matsatsantsa a Pitori welcome rejuvenated Santos to Lucas Moripe Stadium in another match at the same time tonight.

The Pretoria side will be at full strength following the return to action of top striker Atusaye Nyondo who was sidelined by a chest problem.
