Cops want to ask Zola about attack

"I wasn't thinking straight"

POLICE yesterday said they were still on the trail of popular television presenter, musician and actor Bonginkosi "Zola" Dlamini.

Dlamini is wanted in connection with an assault on Sunday World journalist Ngwako Malatji at his Melville house on Saturday.

Malatji had gone to Dlamini's house for an interview when Dlamini allegedly set his dogs on Malatji and assaulted him.

Warrant Officer Lorraine Van Emmerik said: "[Dlamini] has not been arrested and we are appealing to him to come forward to help with the investigation. We need to hear his side of the story regarding a case of assault that has been opened at the Brixton police station."

Malatji said: ""He slapped me on my face. He also took a chair and hit me with it. Zola then called his two dogs and set them on me".

Malatji suffered bites on his leg. His hands were also injured trying to block the chair.

Zola was quoted in Sunday World saying: "I wasn't thinking. I called him [Malatji] to come to my house... I slapped him and at that time I wasn't thinking straight".
