Older child survives
A woman has been arrested for poisoning and killing her two-year-old baby in Klerksdorp, North West police said on Monday.
“The woman made her two children drink the poison and then drank it herself on Sunday,” said Lt-Col Lesego Metsi.
The woman, 35, and her children were taken to hospital where the baby died on Sunday.
Her five-year-old daughter was still receiving treatment, but was in a stable condition, said Metsi.
The woman was charged with murder and attempted murder after she was discharged from hospital.
She would appear in court soon, said Metsi.
