Taxi driver granted bail

THE taxi driver who allegedly dragged Johannesburg advocate Kim McCusker for several hundred metres during a road rage argument was granted bail of R5000. But Matume Thamaga, 30, remains in custody because his relatives were unable to raise the bail money.

The single father of two has been in custody since last Tuesday after the incident between himself and McCusker's fiancee, Lourens Grobler, in Lonehill, northern Johannesburg.

Grobler allegedly assaulted Thamaga after their cars almost collided.

The case was postponed to November 4.
