THE Gauteng education department will spend R30,6 million on the Technical Secondary Recapitalisation grant.
Education MEC Barbara Creecy said the main purpose of the grant was to recapitalise 41 technical schools in the province. This will include improving the capacity and skills development.
The grants will be used for building or redesigning workshops at technical schools to support the technical subject offerings and to ensure refurbishing of workshops in technical schools to comply with safety laws and regulations and meets the minimum industry standards.
