Minister of Women, Children and People with Disabilities Lulu Xingwana visited the Thembalethu School for disabled children

PEOPLE and businesses should walk in the footsteps of former president Nelson Mandela and make a difference in the lives of children.

This was the message from Minister of Women, Children and People with Disabilities Lulu Xingwana at the Mandela Day event held at Thembalethu School for disabled children in Gugulethu, Cape Town.

Xingwana, Correctional Services national commissioner Tom Moyane and ANC national executive committee member Ngoako Ramathlodi dedicated 67 minutes in honour of Madiba by planting vegetables and trees in the school's garden and painted the walls of a building.

The event was also attended by Cape Town mayor Patricia de Lille, Department of Correctional Services officials, businessman Mzoli Ngcawuzele and the public.
