Boy (2) drowns

SAD LIFE: Child had been abandoned at birth, but was lucky to find a foster mother. Today he died

A two-year-old boy drowned in a swimming pool at a house in Klerksdorp, North West, on Thursday, Netcare 911 paramedics said.

A domestic worker found him in the water and pulled him out, spokesman Jeffrey Wicks said.

“The child is thought to have been abandoned at birth and the domestic worker took him into her care.”

But, today, “the boy had found his way to the swimming pool and fell in.”

The boy was under water for an unknown amount of time, when the woman jumped into the pool and pulled him out.

She administered CPR and paramedics took over once they arrived. “Despite their best efforts to revive the child he was declared dead at the scene.”
