POLICE fired rubber bullets and teargas to disperse protesters from Pafuri Road yesterday afternoon.

The community was angry because of the police' "reluctance to arrest a police officer" who shot and killed Setjie.

They burned tyres and barricaded the road with stones.

The crowds dispersed after police used rubber bullets. According to community leaders some protesters sustained injuries and were taken to the local clinic.

The crowds later vowed to continue with the protests until the suspects were behind bars.

Limpopo police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mohale Ramatseba said the case had been referred to the Independent Complaints Directorate (ICD) for investigation.
