Ex-beauty has a heart of gold

FORMER Miss South Africa Joan Ramagoshi will celebrate her birthday on Friday by giving back to her community.

Ramagoshi will upgrade the sports facilities at the Tshegofatsong Special School in Mamelodi, East of Pretoria.

The 32-year-old beauty queen and Sundowns marketing manager said: "It's a fulfilling way to celebrate my birthday.

"It is also a wonderful way to start 2011. I look forward to contributing more throughout the year."

She will be joined by celebrity friends like Nohle Thema and Lerato Moloi in celebrating the upgrading of facilitates at this special needs school.

Ramagoshi won the Miss South Africa title in 2003 and is now a mother, businesswoman and fundraiser. With qualifications as a beauty therapist Ramagoshi is the founder of Joan's Dynamic School of Grooming.

Tshegofatsong was established in 1989 and now has more than 200 pupils.

It is the only school for learners with special educational needs in Mamelodi. It caters for pupils with special needs from the age of four and a half years to 21.

Joan is married to Jeff Madibeng and has a two-year-old daughter Aobakoe.
