Police launch hunt for road rage killer

POLICE have launched a manhunt for a suspect who shot dead a 45-year-old man and smashed his car during an argument early yesterday.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Vincent Mdunge said the incident happened at Ibhoni in Lamontville, outside Durban, around 1.30am.

"Apparently there was an argument between the suspect and the deceased, but we are not sure what triggered it (argument) or what they quarrelled about. But during the course of their argument, the suspect drew out a firearm and shot the deceased, who died at the scene.

"The suspect then smashed the deceased's car.

"Police are still hunting him down and we call on members of the public, who might know his whereabouts or witnessed the incident, to contact us," said Mdunge.
