MOLEMOLE municipal manager David Nkoana is embroiled in a row with land restitution beneficiaries of farms worth multi-millions of rands who want him out.

The farms were transferred to Marobala-O-Tsose Communal Property Association in 2004, after the claimants lodged a land claim in 1996.

The community told the public participation portfolio committee's recent meeting Nkoana had brought conflicts within the trust.

Leading the claimants, France Mathopa said they wanted to work and wanted the government to help them kick out Nkoana.

An elderly man said: "Go . leave us alone. We are suffering and we don't have jobs while you have a job."

Nkoana approached the trust to be accepted as a beneficiary in 2007.

Mathopa said: "From 1996 to 2004 we verified beneficiaries but Nkoana was not there. Now that we have got the land he is in."

The farms bought by the government for R20million have been lying fallow as fighting over the land rages on.

Committee chairperson Lehlogonolo Masoga said they were concerned the rich land was lying unused instead of helping to fight poverty among the community.
