A 50-year-old woman has been charged with murder after stabbing a 41-year-old woman she suspected of having an affair with her husband
Police said the incident happened in Balfour, Mpumalanga, on Saturday.
According to police spokesperson Captain Andries Tshabalala, the deceased and a male companion were on their way home after a night of drinking at a local tavern when they were attacked by the man's wife.
He said the man ran away after his wife had stabbed him on the hand.
"The suspect then stabbed the deceased once in the back and she died on the scene. Her body was found around 5am by a passer-by," he said.
Captain Tshabalala said the suspect will appear in the Balfour magistrate's court today.
