ANGRY residents of Moime village in Maake, outside Tzaneen in Limpopo, have warned that they will no longer discuss the use of their farmland as a graveyard by residents of nearby Lenyenye township.

The residents issued the warning through ANC Mopani region chairperson Joshua Matlou and executive members Dikeledi Mmetle and Bricks Manzini.

The officials were trying to solve a dispute involving the Greater Tzaneen municipality and land owners over the use of their land as a graveyard.

Municipal manager Mabakane Mangena had allegedly bought the land in question from Chief Bessie Maake for R180000 for use as a burial ground without consulting the owners.

Residents spokesperson Chosi Ramodike said: "The land is for food production, nothing else."
