Fire at port put out

A POTENTIALLY devastating fire at Durban port has been quickly brought under control by firefighters.

Netcare 911's Jeff Wicks said a moored ship caught fire yesterday while workers were stripping it with oxygen acetylene torches. Nobody was injured.

Portnet management could not comment before going to press.

Six people were injured, one seriously, when a minibus taxi collided with a stationary car on the North Coast Road.
