FEW would dispute that Congress of the People parliamentary leader Mvume Dandala's decision to step down as leader of the party is a big blow to his strife-torn outfit.

Resigning formally as leader of the party yesterday Dandala said he was disappointed with the current divisions since they threatened to split Cope.

But Dandala's unceremonious exit would have come as a huge disappointment to some Cope supporters.

Many a leader rose through adversity that eventually shaped them, and that might have been the case for him had he stayed on.
