THE saying: "Where there's smoke, there's fire" looks prophetic as regards the xenophobic violence.

While it is easy to blame foreigners for poor service delivery or accuse them of stealing opportunities from South Africans, it is not their fault. We are to blame. South Africans got the government they voted for. If this government is wasting money and life is not as nice as it could be, then you have the capacity to change it at the ballot box in the next election.

You don't solve problems with violence - you probably make things worse. If you can't accept or embrace a foreigner, then leave them alone. Don't blame crime and lack of jobs on them. Don't punish them again, learn from them.
