TWO classrooms and a car were set alight by Tlakgameng residents during a service delivery protest, North West police said yesterday.

Captain Aafje Botma said nobody was injured in the incident and no arrests were made.

The Tlakgameng community had staged several service delivery protests in recent weeks.

The Congress of SA Trade Unions in June called on residents to "stop damaging properties" but also said the government should address corruption claims against the municipality.

Botma said it was quiet in the area yesterday. "Police are monitoring the situation," she said. - Sapa
