Six arrested over stolen railway line

POLICE in Welkom, Free State, pounced on six men who were busy dismantling a stolen railway line.

The six suspects were busy cutting the line inside a truck at a scrap yard when they were arrested.

Police spokesperson Captain Stephen Thakeng said: "Six suspects, who included the scrap yard manager, were arrested for possession of stolen property and will appear in the Welkom magistrate's court soon."

Police seized the railway line, valued at R12000, cutting torches, gas bottles and the truck.
