Experts back La Roja for title

YOU can expect Spain to be crowned the winners on Sunday in their first-ever World Cup final.

YOU can expect Spain to be crowned the winners on Sunday in their first-ever World Cup final.

La Roja were tipped by all the soccer experts Sowetan approached yesterday.

Said SuperSport United assistant coach Thomas Madigage: "It is Spain all the way. They play as a complete unit and not as individuals.

"When they attack, they do it as a team and the same applies to when they defend.

"The team has been together for about four years and they complement each other well."

Soccer great Neil Tovey said: "We have two good sides with attack-minded players.

"It'll be a tough one, but I'm betting Spain will win."

Said former Bafana Bafana defender Andrew Rabutla: "It will be a great final, but my last money is on Spain. This is the match where the Dutch defence will be tested. I don't think they will cope with the likes of David Villa."

Andries Sebola said: "The World Cup is going to Spain. They have players with poise and who can withstand the pressure throughout the match. Don't be fooled by the Netherlands' unbeaten record so far in the tournament.

"They will be beaten on Sunday."

Alfred "Dance" Malete said: "Spain will win and I'm happy that they were beaten (1-0 by Switzerland) in this World Cup. They know the feeling of losing and they will not want to suffer it again. They beat Germany when everybody thought they would lose."
