CHILDREN and the community of Othulinilwezulu in Umsinga, northern KwaZulu-Natal, yesterday came in numbers to witness and take part in soccer clinics at Keats Drift Primary School.
The school has also been used as a public viewing area during the Fifa World Cup.
"We are very grateful as a community to be given such an opportunity to watch all the World Cup matches on a big screen.
"We will look after the equipment when the tournament is long over," said local councillor Canaan Zondi.
Zondi thanked the Independent Development Trust and the provincial department of rural development and land reform for providing the equipment.
Former Amazulu development head coach Muzi Malinga, who also conducted the soccer clinics, said such exercises were essential in identifying future talent and leaders.
He said the equipment used during the clinics would remain the property of the school.
