Find peace and learn how to cope

TRYING to be at peace is something that most people battle with on a daily basis.

TRYING to be at peace is something that most people battle with on a daily basis.

Motivational speaker Thandiwe Nyoni says that most people struggle to find and maintain peace.

"There seem to be pieces of peace within most of us that's missing at work, home or school. The list is endless. Being peaceful is a daily choice," Nyoni says.

Nyoni, a qualified social worker, says men and women find peace from different sources.

"Men are more at peace when they are the providers, lovers and caregivers and women often find peace when they are loved, listened to and appreciated.

"But it depends on how one looks at it. We are all different," she says.

Nyoni says the only way people find peace is when they discover their position and purpose in life.

"Peace is experienced within and radiates outwards.

"If you know your position in society and you know your purpose in life and operate within your area of expertise you can find peace," she says.

Nyoni says peace can be experienced when people learn to love themselves for who they are.

"Love the world for what it is, discover your position and area of expertise," she says.

"Most importantly, discover your talent, skill or gift and share it with the world."

On July 24, Nyoni will host a motivational session on divorce at Soweto's Orlando communal hall. The cost is R150. To find out more, call Nyoni on 084-669-3615.
