Apart from being a qualified pharmacist she is also a professional singer and a former beauty queen .
Her journey of success started in 1998 when she took part in the Miss Pietersburg (now Polokwane), Miss South Africa Northern Province and Miss Premier Soccer League beauty pageants.
In 1999 the go-getter put Atteridgeville on the map by becoming the first black woman to be crowned Miss Pretoria.
Malatjie represented South Africa in the Millennium Girl competition in Singapore. On her return from a month-long trip, she opened Millennium Pharmacy .
"I knew from an early age that I wanted to be a doctor, pharmacist or optometrist," she says.
"I was concerned at the lack of pharmacists in my township and decided to be a pharmacist.
"The relationship I have fostered with patients, health practitioners and my community is the best reward for my relentless endeavour," she says.
Married, and the mother of two, Malatjie has released an album called Redefined .
She says music has been part of her life from a young age, but she didn't take it seriously until she completed her studies.
"I enrolled at the Vusi Mahlasela Music Foundation after completing my degree. I had to drop out because I was employed as a pharmacist at Kalafong Hospital," she says.
"I continued making music though. I released a gospel album and followed that with a collection of traditional wedding songs."
Malatjie has shared the stage with popular groups such as Mafikizolo, Malaika, Tyte and Jamali.
Known as Rea to her fans, she says the highlight of her musical career was when she warmed the stage for Freshlyground at the South African State Theatre in Pretoria in November 2009.
