Our police have few resources, are understaffed and always at the sharp end of criticism. No one likes the police much except when trouble comes knocking at the door.

But wilful people cannot squander state resources for their own nefarious ends.

This woman was prepared, for whatever reasons, to defraud her family while causing them unimaginable anguish.

A trip to face a magistrate will sober up the silly miss and teach her respect for her family and the taxpayer's money.
