LAUSANNE, Switzerland - Triple Olympic champion Usain Bolt has decided to run the 100m rather than the 200m to avoid further injury at tomorrow's Diamond League meeting, organisers said yesterday.

LAUSANNE, Switzerland - Triple Olympic champion Usain Bolt has decided to run the 100m rather than the 200m to avoid further injury at tomorrow's Diamond League meeting, organisers said yesterday.

The race will be the Jamaican world record holder's first since he strained his Achilles tendon in May.

"(He) confirmed he is completely recovered from his injury," organisers said.

"However, after consulting Dr Muller, the doctor who treated him in Munich, the Jamaican decided to run the 100m race rather than the 200m in order to avoid further injuries."

Meanwhile, South Korea's record holder in the women's pole vault, Lim Eun-ji, has been suspended for three months after testing positive for a prohibited substance, says the country's doping watchdog.

Lim tested positive for the diuretics hydrochlorothiazide and chlorothiazide during a local athletics meet in May, the Korea Anti-Doping Agency said. She must forfeit the gold medal she won at the competition, it said. - Reuters and Sapa-AP
