This potentially explosive encounter is billed for the Cape Town International Stadium and kickoff is at 8.15pm.
More than 500000 people are expected in the Mother City for the festivities.
Blowing their vuvuzelas, supporters of the two teams had already started arriving in the Mother City yesterday, all of them upbeat about their chances.
More people are expected to land today and they include Theron, Fifa president Sepp Blatter, Local Organising Committee chairperson Irvin Khoza, chief executive Danny Jordaan, Safa president Kirsten Nematandani and his chief executive Leslie Sedibe.
A fan from the Netherlands, who only identified himself as Johan, said: "Now that Ghana are out we are going into the semifinals happily because there will be no intimidating crowds at the stadium. Ghana had massive support, so it was difficult to beat them.
"We are not thinking about winning against Uruguay, but to win the tournament on Sunday. We have been waiting patiently for this moment - to win our first World Cup.
"We are happy to be in your country because the people are friendly. I will definitely come back."
Uruguay's Diego Suarez said: "I'm happy to be here and I love the noise of the vuvuzelas. I have already bought a few of them and hopefully we will also introduce them in Uruguay.
"I wish you guys could bid for and win the right to host the Olympic Games to enable us to return to this beautiful country."
Soccer fan Tshepo Mapiti, who is from Polokwane in Limpopo, said: "I love the atmosphere here."
There were more than 300000 people in Cape Town when Germany hammered Argentina 4-0 on Saturday.
