Mnguni, who was 52, will be buried at Westpark Cemetery on Saturday.
The player, who was a close friend of producer Sello "Chicco" Twala, was credited with nurturing the talents of players like Teko Modise and Benedict Vilakazi in Diepkloof. Mnguni took Modise to the now-defunct Ria Stars after Twala became involved with the Seshego-based side.
He was also involved in the music industry, co-starring in Twala's best-selling DVD My Lotto Ticket.
Mnguni released his debut album Siyabangena under his stage name, Khumza Khumalo.
Friend Bereng Kholoane said: "We have lost a great man of many talents."
