Hekkie will rock texas with might

SOUTH Africa's miniature titan, Hekkie "The Hexecutioner" Budler will feature in the undercard of the vacant IBF lightweight title fight between Ji Hoon Kim and Miguel Vazquez.

SOUTH Africa's miniature titan, Hekkie "The Hexecutioner" Budler will feature in the undercard of the vacant IBF lightweight title fight between Ji Hoon Kim and Miguel Vazquez.

This fight will take place at Laredo Energy Arena, Laredo, Texas on August 14.

Promoter Rodney Berman announced yesterday that they were still looking for Budler's opponent.

"This is a reward for his superb defence of the IBO junior flyweight against Juanito Rubillar last month," said the boxing supremo who guides the career of Budler under the banner of Golden Gloves Promotions,

"I feel that Budler's all-action, dare-devil style, could really set the fistic scene ablaze in Texas."

Trainer Colin "Nomakanjani" Nathan, who hones Budler's skills with assistant trainer Vusi Mtolo, is excited about Budler's outing.

But Budler, the pint-sized whirlwind performer, who breeds eight pythons and an Anaconda, will not defend the IBO strap.

"This is a great opportunity for Budler to showcase his skills outside South Africa," said Nathan.

Nathan and Mtolo have guided Budler to 16 wins and five KOs he made his professional debut in 2007.

"We are still trying to find the opponent for Budler but I am not looking for a toughie because Budler is coming off a tough fight with Rubillar. Hekkie will actually defend his title in November."

Budler got a spot in the undercard of the IBF championship fight due to Berman's cordial relationship with US promoter Art Pellulo who promotes Kim.

The latter won the rights to fight for the vacant IBF title in May after stopping Ameth Diaz in the first round of their IBF title eliminator.

Kim "The Volcano" blasted Zolani "The Untouchable" Marali in the ninth-round for the IBO belt at Emperors Palace last year.
