THE wind along the Durban coast is too strong for people to go swimming, the SA Weather Services said yesterday.

"The wind is too strong. It's between 40km and 60km an hour. It's advisable that people do not go swimming," forecaster Wiseman Dlamini said.

Dlamini said wind speeds in Durban were expected to drop after 8pm yesterday.

On Monday, the Durban Fifa Fan Fest on the beach front was closed because of the strong wind. It will remain closed on Wednesday and Thursday when no matches are played. - Sapa
