AFTER Sthembiso Ngcobo's departure to Kaizer Chiefs for an estimated R1million, Free State Stars have signed top talents Lehumo Itshegetseng and Sthembiso Dlamini.

Stars have also roped in well-travelled Congolese defender Bageta Dikulu, who left Maritzburg United towards the end of last season after match-fixing allegations.

Sowetan can reveal that the lanky Ngcobo has joined Amakhosi to beef up their attack. Ngcobo, who recently signed a three-season contract extension with Ea Lla Koto, has been offered a similar contract by the Naturena-based side.

Sowetan has also learnt that Dlamini, who is from AmaZulu, has signed a three-season deal with the ambitious Free State outfit, who plan to challenge for the Absa Premiership title.

Itshegetseng, who was identified by Platinum Stars' Steve Komphela when he was still coach of the national Under-23 squad, relocated to Bethlehem from Mpumalanga Black Aces.

Meanwhile, new Mamelodi Sundowns coach Antonio Lopez is expected in the country tomorrow to begin preparations for the 2010-11 soccer season. Downs have signed three Zimbabwean players: Nyasha Mushekwi, Method Mwanjali and Lionel Mtizwa.

Two other recent signings are Richard Henyekane from Lamontville Golden Arrows and Thapelo Tshilo from relegated Jomo Cosmos.
