Blatter threatened to suspend the FFF if France's politicians keep meddling in soccer. If France is suspended, it will be banned from international tournaments and French clubs will be unable to take part in European competitions.
"There was never any question of the French government interfering in the affairs of the FFF," said government spokesperson Luc Chatel. FFF president Jean-Pierre Escalettes resigned on Monday. - Reuters
