TOP development soccer coach Mandla Mazibuko looks set to replace Sheryl Botes as head coach of the Transnet Football School of Excellence.

Botes, a former Banyana Banyana player, has resigned from the once successful school to take up a new job as coach of Basetsana, the national women's Under-20 team.

Mazibuko, who is also the assistant coach of Majimbos, has been with the institution for more than a decade as one of the coaches along with Sam Mbatha, Cavann Johnson and James Mabena.

Mbatha and Johnson have since left to work at Platinum Stars. Safa and Transnet are expected to advertise the position of head coach after the 2010 World Cup.

The school was established in 1995 by former Bafana Bafana coach Ted Dumitru, who is now the technical director of big-spending Mamelodi Sundowns.

This was after Dumitru organised a training camp known as Chibuku Academy at Orlando Stadium, which proved to be a roaring success.

Others who were involved at that time included Farouk Khan.

The first intake of players at the school included Joseph Masondo, Dillon Sheppard and Gerald Sibeko.
