Carin Strauss' side beat Samoa 54-46 on their own turf.
The Proteas will be going all out to win today as this will help improve their world ranking and qualify for the Commonwealth games in New Delhi, India, in October. The South Africans are currently ranked sixth, while Samoa are eighth.
The new world rankings will be released on July 1.
"We are all motived, going into Friday's match and we are eager to win the game well," Proteas manager Marchelle Maroun said yesterday.
"The players know the importance of winning these series because it helps us improve our world ranking.
"We are all excited about the way the players have been playing recently. Our players inspire confidence as we prepare for the Commonwealth Games."
Strauss's charges went to Samoa buoyed by their impressive display in friendly matches against strong teams from New Zealand last week.
"These matches will not only assist us in preparations for the Commonwealth Games and Fast-Net tournament in Manchester, England in November, but will also give our coach a pool of players to choose from for the coming international tournament," said Maroun, speaking from Samoa.
The Proteas have quality players such as Sindi Gumede and Zanele Mdodana.
