Police search for missing officer

A FAMILY in Limpopo is praying day and night for the return of the head of the family, who has been missing for the past 21 days.

Sergeant Tlou Johannes Mpai, a police officer based at the Mahwelereng police station, has disappeared.

Mpai, 43, was last seen on May 31 when he left his colleagues, saying he was going to attend to a court matter in Seshego.

Limpopo police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Ronel Otto said yesterday that the police was searching for him.

"We have been unlucky not to locate him," Otto said.

She said the officer's wife was in the dark about her husband's whereabouts.

"Mpai's family was supposed to be celebrating the World Cup and watching the games like everybody else. But now they are in tears," she said.

Anyone with information on Mpai's whereabouts should contact the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Kgasha Mashamaite, on 072-263-6835.
