Bafana need to beat Les Bleus with an avalanche of goals without conceding any and hope that Uruguay do the same to Mexico - which is highly improbable, though.
The two matches will play simultaneously, starting at 4pm. Mexico and Uruguay will battle it out at Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg, while the Bafana-France clash is billed for Free State Stadium.
Josephs will start between the sticks in the absence of number onegoalkeeper Itumeleng Khune who was sent off in their 3-0 defeat by Uruguay in Pretoria last Wednesday.
The man popularly known as "Slim Kat" in soccer circles is aware that France will still be a dangerous side despite the absence of golden striker Nicolas Anelka.
Anelka was sent packing by the French Football Federation after their 2-0 loss to Mexico at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Thursday. He is reported to have insulted head coach Raymond Domenech at interval, which was leaked to the media.
"France have an array of big-name players ... there is still another equally dangerous striker in Thierry Henry, so we are ready for the entire team and not individuals," said Josephs. "Just like us, France are chasing their first win of the tournament, so it will be a hell of a tough game, but we cannot even afford to get a draw.
"We need to get a convincing win, it is important for us to go out there and score as many goals as possible. This is the only way for us to go through to the second round.
"We have not lost hope and we really appreciate the unwavering support we have been getting from the rest of the South Africans, and we need to make them happy.
"The support is always great in Bloemfontein, and we hope we will be fired up against France," said the Orlando Pirates number one goalkeeper. "We are just praying that one of them must win and we do likewise in Bloemfontein. We are ready to make the country proud in this tournament. Our loss to Uruguay is history."
