CREDIT has to be given to the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform for its good work and continued efforts to better the lives of rural people across South Africa by ensuring that theyget to watch the World Cup.

It would have been sad if people in rural areas had missed the first-ever African soccer tournament .

Setting up 45 viewing sites across the country shows how determined the government, through this department's Comprehensive Rural Development Programme , is to change the lives of rural people .

Developing rural areas is one of government's top priorities and the CRDP is the right vehicle to bring about this development and to ensure vibrant, equitable and sustainable rural livelihood is created .
