Nkosinathi Mhlongo, 24, was killed along Mookgophong while returning from Pretoria in February 2008.
His uncle, Sipho Sibiya, said they were happy that justice had been done on the matter.
Sibiya said they had put all their trust in the court. "Though nothing can be done to replace the life that we have lost, we are happy that the perpetrators have been found guilty."
Pecson Mathonsi, president of the Students Christian Organisation at Turfloop campus, yesterday also appreciated the court's guilty finding of the three accused.
The Polokwane magistrate's court found the three university students guilty of causing the death of their fellow student by throwing him out of a moving bus.
George Tsoai and Raymond Mabelebele were found guilty of murder while Tibane Serumole was convicted of assaulting Mhlongo.
Magistrate Doctor Nkuna found Tsoai and Mabelebele guilty "because of their barbaric behaviour, assaulting a defenceless man and throwing him out of the bus".
Nkuna also dismissed as lies claims by Tsoai and Mabelebele that they knew nothing about Mhlongo's death .
Tsoai and Mabelebele will be sentenced for murder while Serumole will hear his fate on the lesser charge.
Sentencing has been postponed to July 11.
