A 42-YEAR-OLD British man has been refused entry into South Africa as authorities felt he would "threaten public order", police said yesterday.

Brigadier Sally de Beer said: "This individual has a history of inciting racially motivated violence at sporting events.

"It was decided that he would pose a threat to public order and that he should be prohibited from entering South Africa."

The man landed at OR Tambo International Airport on Friday and immigration officials stopped him. He was due to be sent back home yesterday.

De Beer said he was the 12th person to be refused entry ahead of the World Cup. - Sapa
