Bid to keep kids busy during Cup

CHARITY organisations have put together holiday programmes to keep children off the streets during the World Cup.

Patti Niemand of the Salvation Army said they would host 73 holiday clubs .

Niemand said the aim was to reduce the chances of children falling victim to trafficking.

From today Joburg Child Welfare will run a holiday programme for pupils of the Lejoeleputsoa Primary School in Soweto .

Children in Joburg's inner city can also take part in a sports programme run in partnership with A Chance to Play at Thembalethu centre at the Drill Hall.
