AS the South African anthem rings around Soccer City today, Pheko Nkone will be playing the anthem on his recorder in front of his family's television at their home in Daveyton, Ekurhuleni.

AS the South African anthem rings around Soccer City today, Pheko Nkone will be playing the anthem on his recorder in front of his family's television at their home in Daveyton, Ekurhuleni.

The six-year-old musician from Kgalema Primary School is a big Bafana Bafana supporter. He says this is the only way he can show his support for his beloved team.

Pheko says his mother, Tsakane, a maths teacher, could not afford tickets for him to go to the stadium and watch the team.

"I would have loved to play live for my heroes before they play to give them my support. I will stand in front the television and play along as my heroes sing," says Pheko.

The gifted youngster also plays the piano.
