THEMBI Seete has been in the entertainment industry for 15 years.

THEMBI Seete has been in the entertainment industry for 15 years.

"I've been there and done that, and gone through everything you can imagine," she says

Perhaps that's why this famous Joburg-based singer, presenter, actor, dancer and MC was recently chosen to be the face of Always Ultra.

"The new payline of the product is Mova Howeva, and I really relate to this because I've always felt like I can move the way I want to in any circles."

Seete started Boom Shaka in 1993 with Junior Sokhela, Lebo Mathosa and Theo Nhlengethwa.

The band quickly became one of the most successful South African bands of the mid-1990s and their music became the soundtrack of thousands of youngsters.

When Mathosa left the group to start her own solo career in 2000, Boom Shaka split up and Seete pursued other avenues for her talent.

"I started a new project, Music is My Life. The first single from the album, Free, is still doing very well."

In another project, she works with youth from Kroonstad.

"We keep the youth busy with soccer and carnivals."

Seete is also a marketing ambassador for Engen.

During the World Cup she will join other local performers at Fan Parks across Ekurhuleni.

"We've set up these events for people that can't go to World Cup games."

Seete also presents Jika Ma Jika on SABC1 every Wednesday at 7pm.

With such a busy schedule, Seete barely has time for a cup of tea. But when she does she uses a sweetener.

"I usually buy Canderel but that's just out of brand loyalty," she says.

"Canderel has a very strong and recognisable flavour with quite a bitter saccharine aftertaste."

First she tried the Huletts sweetener.

"This one tastes just like real sugar and doesn't change the taste of the beverage. I like it but I think it's a bit too sweet."

Seete also liked the taste of Sweet 'n Low.

"It's not too sweet and has a subtle aftertaste. I like the pink, feminine packaging.

"Equal is not sweet enough," remarked Seete.

"The taste is good, but I'd have to use more than usual. It has a very gentle, smooth flavour that doesn't taste artificial."

Huletts came out tops.
