Angelique Kidjo y esterday visited Rosebank Primary School in Johannesburg and dazzled pupils and their teachers. After the kids welcomed her with the national anthem, Kidjo performed Move on up, a Curtis Mayfield original which will be used by BBC Sport for all World Cup coverage.

"I wanted to do and dedicate this song to the youth of Africa to show that it is possible for us to overcome the challenges. Enough of thinking that what comes from outside is better than what is from here," said an energetic Kidjo. "Africa is not about misery and poverty, there is joy, I'm tired of seeing the negative."

Kopanang Moripe, a Grade 7 pupil, said: "The performance was brilliant."
