RECENT developments and negative media reports about the Zuma household are troubling, to say the least.

President Jacob Zuma is arguably the only head of state in a modern democracy with more than one wife.

One of his wives is reportedly cheating on him. She is said to be pregnant with a child by her bodyguard, who has since committed suicide.

Zuma and the Presidency have since denied these reports, calling them a smear campaign.

The president is said to have called for a family summit to look into the matter.

We believe there is no smoke without fire.

And could it be that Zuma's philandering acts and polygamous tendencies are coming back to haunt him?

Time will tell.

Perhaps it is time for the president to do introspection on his polygamous lifestyle.

For now we hope Zuma is not distracted in his important work - that of governing the country.

We expect his promise to deliver services to the electorate to be unhindered.
