SCORES of elderly citizens joined in the Football Friday craze when they went to collect their pension grants.

They gathered at Seshego Hospital outside Polokwane to collect their pensions in true soccer style.

Dozens of them gathered at the South African Social Security Agency paypoint within the hospital's complex to wish the national side Bafana Bafana good luck in their World Cup campaign starting on Friday.

Some of them, clad in their soccer jerseys, took to the dance floor to do the diski dance.

The best dance moves came from a diehard Kaizer Chiefs fan, Johannes Mathole, 80, who said: "We are practising the diski dance here and would like to extend the campaign to the townships and villages throughout thetournament.

"The boys and their coach should know that the elderly are right behind them.

"Although we won't be able to go to stadiums, we will watch them on television screens."
