EIGHTEEN people were killed and 24 others injured in separate accidents in Limpopo at the weekend, the provincial roads and transport department said yesterday.

Twelve people were killed when two trucks collided, causing one of them to overturn, after which another car crashed into one of the trucks in Tshipise near Musina on Friday, spokesman Gordon Horn said.

According to the SABC all the dead worked for Mooketsi tomato farming business ZZ-2.

Horn said in the second accident six people were killed and 12 critically injured when two taxis collided head-on in Nebo near Jane Furse on Saturday.
