One of them will play the lead role of an ex-gangster turned cop, Chili Bhibiza, in a movie titled Ghetto Dangerous, an exciting cop thriller in the style of The Departed. The winner will be announced on Saturday.

The film will be directed by award-winning Donovan Marsh and filming will start later this year.

The auditions saw 10 contestants battle it out for the chance to win the first prize.

Every week viewers witnessed the passion and commitment that goes into becoming a film star.

The popularity of Class Act grew so much that it became one of the country's top 10 most watched TV shows.

In addition to the lead role in the new movie, the winner of Class Act will receive a Moonyeenn Lee and Associates (MLA) casting agency contract, eight weeks of training at the New York Film Academy and the lead role in an Amstel TV commercial.

The second placed contestant will go to LA Actors Boot Camp in Los Angeles to undergo six weeks of intensive acting training and will also be represented by MLA for six months.

The third runner-up will also win a six months MLA contract and a three-month intensive acting course with international acting doyenne Dorothy Gould.

Amstel marketing manager Jan-Willem van Wensem said the idea behind the Class Act reality series was to create a leading man for a South African film, to expose the raw and untapped talent .

"When we launched Class Act in January, we were excited we would create the opportunity for people to show their passion in order to become movie stars," Van Wensem said.

Several Sowetan readers tipped Clive to win the contest. They said he had consistently shown that he was a quality actor who has his whole act together, and therefore is set to triumph.
